The Town of New Glasgow has released a draft Downtown Revitalization Plan for public comment. The plan identifies Provost Street, Archimedes Street, and the East River waterfront as priority areas for investment over the next five years.
Key proposals in the draft plan:
- Pedestrianization of lower Provost Street on weekends (May–September)
- New public washrooms and seating areas near the waterfront
- Façade improvement grants ($5,000–$25,000) for historic downtown buildings
- Electric vehicle charging stations at three downtown parking lots
- A new outdoor events venue / amphitheatre at the riverfront park
