Honouring local marathon legend Johnny Miles, this annual road race draws runners of all abilities for 5K, 10K, and half-marathon distances through the scenic streets of New Glasgow.
Johnny Miles was a New Glasgow-born runner who shocked the world by winning the Boston Marathon in 1926 — a feat he repeated in 1929. The annual Johnny Miles Running Events celebrate his legacy and promote healthy active living in Pictou County.
**Race Distances:**
- 5K Fun Run — perfect for beginners and families
- 10K — competitive wave + recreational wave
- Half Marathon (21.1 km) — certified course through New Glasgow and along the East River
